sublime text sftp not working but ssh does

SSHFSĪs a last resort, I tried installing sshfs on my macOS mine. However, I am still unable to modify anything outside of my home directory even through Samba. So I decided to install smb on my Linux machine, and sure enough I was finally able to mount several folders which I could see and control directly from the Finder. MacOS has built-in support for mounting filesystems through Samba. However, because I'm unable to modify any files outside of my home folder, I'm very limited in what I can do after mounting the filesystem in ForkLift. The issue with this is that the program I use, ForkLift, can virtually mount filesystems through the SFTP protocol. This is rather strange to me because I am logging in as the same user, except via SFTP instead of SSH, but I'm being given a lower set of permissions to create and modify files. However, when I use SFTP to access the Linux machine using sftp I am unable to modify files and folders outside of my home directory. However, this is not the mounting solution I'm looking for-I'm trying to avoid using the command line. I put in the password for user and I'm in.Īfter I SSH in, I can create and modify files and folder at will, both inside and outside my home folder located at /home/user. So, normally I can SSH into my Linux machine since it's connected to my local network-all I do is ssh where x depends on the number of the device in the network.
